Jon Weinberg is a DIRECTOR, ACTOR, PHOTOGRAPHER and DAD* based in Los Angeles.
*Not necessarily in that order (especially if you’re talking to his daughter! )
Born to Canadian parents and raised in the same Minneapolis suburb as the Coen Brothers, Jon Weinberg was intrigued and inspired by movies, television, and the vibrant theatre and music scenes around the Twin Cities from a young age.
While music was an inspiration and passion through his high school years, Jon focused on acting and theatre while at university. He received a degree in theatre from the University of British Columbia (UBC) and continued his acting training at the Atlantic Theatre Company in NYC and the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA) in London, England.
During his undergrad, Jon also studied directing and photography. After his time at UBC and before moving to Los Angeles, Jon spent several years acting, directing and producing theatre with the Vancouver based Ah Um Theatre.
As an actor, Jon has appeared on TV, film, stage and the occasional Doctor Who BBC audio drama. As a filmmaker, Jon has directed and produced films, commercials, PSAs and several music videos. His award-winning feature film, Funeral Day, is available on all the usual digital platforms (iTunes, Google Play, Amazon, Tubi, etc). Jon’s photography has appeared in various publications including NME, the LA Weekly, h (Magazine) and more. Jon is also the author of the award-winning photography & poetry book A Calm Position (In Due Time Press).
